Combat Paper Project

The Combat Paper Project spent three days at Mills College this week making paper out of combat cloth, i.e. military uniforms worn in combat. Workshops were taught, a pulp press was constructed, demonstrations provided and a poetry reading was well attended. Members and friends of Iraq Veterans Against the War participated in this effort with locals joining the several veterans (and a civilian) on the tour. This is one of the more incredible, healing, thoughtful, purposeful and intentional art “project” I’ve ever seen! For more information: If you can help get this project to Black Rock City in 2009, or support it’s existence, please be in touch.
