Some friends of friends towed the MH out of the sand where I got stuck Christmas Eve, and itÕs been mellow ever since. The surf is a two-minute walk from my front door. This is not your daddyÕs Mexico. There are no cops around the beach and no Federales patrolling with submachine guns. Oh, one showed up the other day, but his interest was more in the line of beach ass observation and reporting.

This is a great town. Locals are open and friendly. A small fishing village really with a gringo hotel on the north end of a mile wide half moon bay. Camped a block from where the road from the main highway ends at sand I feel content, peaceful and thoroughly accepting of sometimes cloudy skies, beautiful sunsets, seventy five degree water and low eighties air temps.

Not bad for a kid from the cornfields of Western Georgia. Wait! There are no cornfields in Western Georgia and IÕm from New York! Different story, sorry.

This is a town where lots of Gringos have come to retire and surf. If I could sell my house from here, I could stay!

A family of nine Argentineans is camped here also, along with a bunch of kids from Mexico City and Guadalajara for the weekend. Other then that, weÕve practically got the beach to ourselves except for the mid afternoon influx of escorted tourists from PV for an, (clear your throat here) "Excursion Adventure."

IÕve been reading a first novel by "Bonger" Don Strachen. ItÕs real good, mostly. About frogs, baseball, sex & relationships and parallel universes. Something for most of you reading this page! Published by Penthe Press. Your local bookstore should be able to find it by now. Email me for direct ordering info.

One of the daily highlights here is the sundown release of several dozen baby turtles. Over 200,000 have so far been released from this beach. One in two hundred will live to return to lay eggs! For more information, here it is.

Exercising daily, swimming and body surfing, tossing branches into the surf for MC The Real Dog, sunrises, sunsets. . .all in all, a lot cheaper then KauaÕi, just about as beautiful and a chance to learn some Spanish and eat fresh tortillas wrapped around thick shrimp!

I feel very grateful to be here, must return in a couple of weeks, but how and for how long?

For those of you with desire to know a little about the real estate action here email Dar at Los Arcos restaurant.

Adios
