Larry D. Smith is from someplace near Beaver Falls, 
near Pittsburg, PA. His dads name was also Larry D. 
Smith and he was an educator. I met Larry in Paris in 
the U.S. Army in 1966 when he was entertainment 
director at Camp des Loges. Professionally, he was an 
actor and director. He was discharged from the U.S. 
Army shortly after the "Cuban Missile" episode then 
worked for several years for U.S. Army Special 
Services. I last saw him in Manhattan in 1969. At the 
time he was seeking work in commercials, film and 
stage. He had two daughters with a wife who was also
